Sonali Bendre (MarathI, born 1 January 1974) is an Indian actress and model. She has starred in Bollywood films mostly but has acted in a few Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. She is also one of the four judges of fourth season of Indian Idol and India's Got Talent.




Personal life and education
Bendre has three sisters. She studied in Bangalore and Mumbai in Kendriya Vidyalaya and Holy Cross High School Thane. While she was growing up, she was a quiet child who loved to read.

She married film producer/director Goldie Behl, on November 12, 2002, a close friend of Abhishek Bachchan.[1] On August 9, 2005 she gave birth to a son, Ranveer, at Breach Candy Hospital.[2]


Career
Bendre started out as a model before being selected for the "Star Dust Talent Search". She was invited to Bombay and received training from a variety of top actors and performers of the Indian film industry. Her first role was in Aag (1994) opposite Govinda. Though she initially struggled to be a successful actress, she was eventually given critical acclaim for her performances in films like Bhai (1997), Sarfarosh, Zakhm, Duplicate, Kadhalar Dhinam (Tamil film), Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United (1999), Tera Mera Saath Rahey and Anaahat (2003) among many others. She is also known for being one of the few actresses who acted opposite all top four Khans (Aamir, Shahrukh, Saif and Salman.) She has also starred opposite some of the other biggest names in bollywood such as Akshay Kumar Suniel Shetty, Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt and Anil Kapoor.

Next to her well-received performances, she was also recognized as a graceful dancer through films like Bombay, Lajja and Major Saab to name a few. She is frequently listed as one of the top most beautiful Bollywood actress.

Bendre is set to star in the theatre in a play called, Aap Ki Soniya.[3] She also hosted a dance show on television named "Kya Masti Kya Dhoom....!" and now she is going to be one of the judges of Indian Idol in Sony Entertainment television.

In 2003, she made a special appearance as Shah Rukh Khan's doctor in Kal Ho Naa Ho (produced by Karan Johar), which also starred Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta.[4] She also hosted the 50th Filmfare Awards with Saif Ali Khan and Farida Jalal on February 26, 2005. She is currently a judge on Indian Idol 4 and India's Got Talent

Background
Naga Chaitanya was born on November 23, 1986 to actor Akkineni Nagarjuna and his first wife, Lakshmi. However his parents split before his first birthday, and subsequently he lived with his father and his step mother, Amala, a prominent actress. Nagarjuna also had another son with Amala, called Akhil Akkineni, who played the lead role in Sisindri as a two year old. Moreover, Naga Chaitanya's grandfather, Akkineni Nageswara Rao was one of thespian's of Telugu cinema, with cousins Sumanth and Sushanth also being film actors.His maternal grandfather, D. Ramanaidu, is a famous producer in the film industry whilst his maternal uncle, Venkatesh is also one of Telugu cinema's biggest actors.

Naga Chaitanya initially did not want to become an actor, but had a sudden change of mind, which resulted in his parents sending him to an acting school in Mumbai and then to Hollywood to learn dancing and fighting, before he made his debut.

Career
Following the legacy led by his family in films, Naga Chaitanya's debut was widely anticipated. After several rumours regarding his debut, during the audio launch of his father's King, Chaitanya was introduced to the film world and there his debut film was launched. Josh, directed by newcomer Vasu Varma and produced by Dil Raju pairs him opposite a fellow debutant and child of an actress, Karthika Nair, the daughter of Radha.

Prior to the release of his first film, he signed up for his second film with Indira Poductions, which is to be directed by Gautham Menon and music will be given by Oscar Winner A.R.Rahman.

She has acted in the Telugu movies, Samarasimha Reddy (1999) and Ravoyi Chandamama (1999) with Nagarjuna. She was seen in Tamil movies like Red, Pagaivan and Paapa.

She had one release in Malayalam, Dubai, with Mammootty which was a dismal flop.

Soundarya was born as Soumya on 17th July 1971 in Kolar, Karnataka, India. Her father was K.S.Satyanarayan, a film writer and her brother Amarnath managed her career. She was in her first year MBBS when she got her first movie offer.

She was married to a software engineer G.S.Raghu in 2003. He was also her maternal uncle.

She died in a plane crash in Bangalore along with her brother when she was heading to campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party.
